Favorite Books

A little fact that you may not know about me is that I love to read.  I always have a book in my bag because you never know when you're going to need it.  For me I seem to always need it when my data runs out and I have nothing else to do.  I don't know about you but I go through my data faster then fast.  I always finding myself grabbing my book when I'm at the gym or in the middle of a good part.

I'm currently reading ...

Jodi Picoult's new book Leaving Time is my most recent book and I'm only 20 pages in so I can not say much.  What I can say is that one of the character's occupation deals with elephants so that's an automatic win in my book (pun not intended!).  Jodi Picoult is my favorite author by far.

My all time favorite book...

The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult was the first book I ever read by her.  I think I have recommended this book to every person I can.  What I love about this book is the surprise twist at the end! It's something that isn't expected at all.

Two favorite movie adapted books...

When it comes to movies that were previously books I always try to read the book first.  For obvious reasons, the books are always better.  I also like to imagine the characters and plot in my head before I see how someone else thought it out.  A positive too is that you always get more detail in a book rather then the movie.

The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks is another great book with an ending you didn't expect.  Nicholas Sparks is known for his romance novels and this does not let him down.  I had been wanting to see the movie for the longest time but wouldn't let myself until I read the book.  After seeing the movie and reading the book I can say the movie is pretty accurate.  Not much is changed and stays pretty close to the plot which is why it's one of my favorites.

I had first seen Room at the award shows and I watched it win all of these awards.  Seeing the relationship between Jacob Tremblay and Brie Larson in real life always convinced me that this must be a good movie.  Just like The Longest Ride I picked up the book prior to watching the movie.  I have to say the beginning of the book is a little slow but after that I could not put the book down.  I swear to you you're going to want to finish it in one sitting.  When I went zip lining I kept on reading it as we waited for our tour time.  When I finished the book that night I rented the movie and watched it with my friends.  From the acting to the cinematography everything was perfect.  Not only is Jacob Tremblay and Brie Larson's relationship goals in real life but they connected so well as actors.  Throughout the whole movie it's mainly them and seeing them act out intense and mature scenes was astounding considering Jacob Tremblay was only nine or ten.  Some parts of the movie you'd have to have read the book to understand but since the author Emma Donoghue wrote the screenplay she knew how she wanted it to play out.

I can't wait to read...

The second I saw the trailer for Me, Before, You I knew I had to see it in theaters.  Not only because it looks like it has a great plot but because it stars Emilia Clarke! And of course I am not allowing myself to see the movie until I read the book.
